Punjabi Ghasitaram Halwai, was started in 1916 in Karachi, Pakistan. The company was initiated by the Late Shri Ghasitaramdas Bajaj in Karachi, Pakistan, and hence the name GHASITARAM. After the partition of 1947, his son Shri Goverdhandas Bajaj left the sprawling business setup behind and moved with merely basic wares to earn his daily livelihood to the upcoming city of Bombay. Under his proficient guidance the business grew and our first retail shop was set up in Kalbadevi, Mumbai.
Since then, under the able guidance of Mr. Vippan Bajaj, the firm has grown into its present setup of sprawling factory premises at Mahim, over 10 retail outlets in the city, and exports to various nations around the world. The enterprise is now managed by Mr. Vippan Bajaj and his sons, Mr. Kunal Bajaj and Mr. Rahul Bajaj. They have huge facility for a base kitchen at our factory situated in the heart of Mumbai at Mahim. Besides manufacturing & distribution of sweets, snack items, salted savories & namkeens, they also sub contractors to various large food contractor houses.
Punjabi Ghasitaram boast a state-of-the-art micro-laboratory at their factory where frequent checks are carried out at different stages. Stringent checks on Raw Materials & Finished Goods carried out periodically enable us to maintain our outstanding quality. On our panel, we have in-house food technologists & micro biologists who suggest different ways to enhance production, help in innovation and addition of products, and draw random samples to ascertain the microbial growth and food analysis.
Company also encompasses HACCP training at office premises from March 15th 2006. This program includes training personnel on different topics covering personal & environment hygiene, good manufacturing practices & and a detail understanding of HACCP concepts & implementation.
infrastructure includes installation of 3 steam boilers along with steam kettles & thermic fluid boilers with oil rotating mechanism for production, this non-direct heating medium-mechanization ensures quality to be maintained and large quantities can be produced in a single day. At the present we have 10 branches in and around Mumbai, and an array of delivery vans to ensure prompt & timely deliveries to our clients. They maintain strength of high quality skilled workers and our factory works are open for 24 hours, ensuring best services and timely deliveries even incase of urgent orders.
